I've never been to Bonnaroo but have enjoyed reading your entries, and the comments section alone has been comedy gold at times.

I've found your viewpoint interesting mainly because I don't know who half of these bands are either other than the main headliners and it's interesting to hear a real musicians take on it all. Anyway, it's refreshing to get someone's real opinion as opposed to all the vanilla commentary that passes for reviews these days.

A note on Bonnaroo

My husband, age 54 and I, age 49, returned from Bonnaroo last evening. We did not camp, but attended all four days. We were also impressed how well 80,000 people can get along. All the kids we talked to were so respectful, and gracious to the "old" folks. Once you get past the tattoos and body piercings, they are just a group of young people having fun. The music was great. We listened to groups we've never heard of and are now fans. It was fun.

A note on Bonnaroo

I returned from Bonnaroo Monday morning at about 6 AM. I just want to say that I wholly agree with this blog. This was my first 'Roo expierence and me and all my friends discussed this same thing. Everyone got along, people were kind and used manners. No fights broke out, no "drug-induced craziness" insued. All in all it says a lot about this generation of people, and the fact that maybe the media portrays us in the wrong light a lot of the time. We were all there to have a good time, and enjoy the music. The expierence was very free-ing.

A note on Bonnaroo

My last day (and I'm mid 30-s) I sat at the tent longer than most waiting for traffic to move. Three younger guys walked up and asked if I'd take a picture of them. They turned their backs as I aimed the camera, and they waved good-bye to the weekend. I thought at same time, "Kinda' cute... and you know, one of these guys is probably the next Steve Jobs." Hell of a fun crowd, all over.

A note on Bonnaroo

Can someone post this? Thanks -

Who the heck is Dave White to knock around bands like these in his June 20th MSNBC article "The Rock and Roll Hall of Lame". In fact, who the heck is Dave White. He sounds like a wannabe to me.

Let's not buy into his quest to become famous at other hard working people's expense. He thinks he's a know it all, too.

He sounds like a dummy. His opinion is his opinion, but his opinion is not everyone's - and his opinion sucks, and it makes no sense, and I believe he was one of those record store wannabes who can't be a musician, so he is taking it out on all successful musicians. U2 is great, and the other bands he mentioned in the article he wrote are as well - he's just jealous.

A note on Bonnaroo

Bonnaroo is sheer evidence that maybe drugs aren't as bad as we've all been brought up to believe. This festival is the only place in history that 90,000 people (including workers, etc) have been able to spend more than a day together and there was not one major breakout, if a breakout at all. Everyone who attends is there to have fun, make friends, and get intouch with fellow man, and, yes, get stoned and take psychadelic drugs. I say, so what? If they want to and can prove that there is nothing violent about it, then allow it. I live in Tennessee and I have never in my life experienced such a peaceful atmosphere until I attended, and I am proud to say that is changed my life.

A note on Bonnaroo

This is a great message for Bonnaroo. I myself have yet to go but plan to this upcoming year. Most of my friends have been at least once if not more, and some of the stories I hear amaze me. I don't even have to hear the lineup and I know that I am going to be buying a ticket as soon as they are available. I'm sure there are going to be a ton of bands I'll love to see but thats not the full reason I am going. I want to experience Bonnaroo in all its hippy loving glory.
